Pink Xenon HID Headlights with 10000k HID Fogs
Just bought my girl some real pink lights! What do you think? This Is a 2009 Accent Hyundai Sport. Had to install hid fogs to balance out the light on the road. They were a little TOO pink for ripping around town as you can see
Eat Them Responsibly
Doritos girl goes sight seeing with a supply of Doritos -With interesting resutls… I submitted this ad to Doritos, but it was rejected because I could not prove that I used all the images with permission. I remade the ad using images and sountrack for which I have full permission to use. I renamed it ‘Eat Doritos Responsibly.’ We had a lot fun making this: ‘Doritos Girl’ was shot in the kitchen using a blue screen, which was actually the roller blind that I borrowed from the bathroom window and stuck to the kitchen wall with duct tape. The lighting was provided by Quartz Halogen work lights that I bought from my favuorite hardware chain for about £20.00. I borrowed the picnic basket from my mother-in law, and invested heavily in the cosnumable props -the Doritos. I’m back on diet now!
Xenon short arc lamp – DIY searchlight
Same setup as my last video, a 1.6kW xenon short arc lamp, being run at about 1kW. A Fresnel lens and mirror directs the light up into the sky.
High pressure sodium hot restriking and contrast demo
This is one cool thing about high pressure sodium lamps: the way they restrike when they do a hot restrike. A hot restrike is when you turn an HID lamp off without giving it time to cool down. HID lamps need to cool down before they can restart so there will be some off time. High pressure sodium lamps unfortunately do this a lot due to their sensitivity to voltage fluctuations. The rewarding thing however is the cool lightning bolt strobing effect that they do. Also shown in this vid is the low color contrast HPS lamps tend to have. I talk about reasons why I dislike HPS in most applications although I will admit there are some occasions where they work well such as in foggy areas or as a grow light for your indoor palm tree or bamboo plant, even in situations where the color compliments the architecture. none the less, enjoy the cool lightning bolt effect and a color that is irritating to the eyes.

Holophane 175 watt metal halide fixture hot restrike part 2
This is a hazardous locations fixture made by Holophane. It makes the coolest noises. It can run both probe start metal halide and mercury vapor lamps. It also has a quartz halogen lightbulb that turns on whenever the metal halide lamp isn’t working, such as during a hot restrike or when it is burned out and needs to be replaced, and probably when the metal halide lamps is simply just unscrewed. Since the glass is currently a bit stuck I haven’t been able to test that. Here we are starting with the fixture at full brightness and then we are going to do a hot restrike. This is the second video in which you see the quartz halogen in action. It almost seems like the lamp still won’t restrike, but surprise surprise. Just be patient and enjoy!
